Coordinate Research Program
Overview
The Coordinate Research Program provides Harvard faculty or a senior librarian with a chance to invite faculty members (NO graduate students) to join them in collaborative research projects in established Asian Studies. Priority will go to invitees based at universities and research institutions in Asia. While joint research is the primary focus, collaboration may also include co-teaching and/or co-organizing conferences and workshops.
Terms and conditions
Grants are made to qualified scholars to permit them to spend between 3 and 9 months at Harvard. The grant consists of economy fare roundtrip transportation to Cambridge, a monthly stipend and medical insurance for the individual scholar.
Application Process
There are two deadlines for submission of applications to the program each
year: April 15 and October 15. The nominating faculty should submit a letter
explaining the collaborative nature of the project as well as an application
form to be filled out by the nominated scholar [download application form

and the scholar's list of publications. Harvard faculty will normally be
limited to hosting a maximum of two coordinate scholars in any five-year
period. Candidates to this competitive application process will be notified of
the selection committee's decision no later than six weeks after the
application deadline.
