Tenzin Tsundue (Ph.D., Southwest University for Nationalities, 2006) teaches Political Economics and Public Economics at Southwest University for Nationalities (Chengdu, China). His research interests are composed of three parts: regional organizations at the three major monasteries of Lhasa, disaster relief organizations, and traditional mutual-aid organizations in modern and contemporary Tibet. His current research focuses on disaster archives from the 18th to 20th century in Tibet. During his stay at the Harvard-Yenching Institute, he will use disaster as a point of departure to study the relationships among Tibetans, the environment and institutions.
