Zhong Hua received his B.A. and M.A. from Northwest University of China and recently obtained a Ph.D. in Archaeology from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China. His dissertation focused on the Palaeoethnobotany around the Central Plain in China from the middle of the Yangshao period to the Longshan period. His other major research interests involve agricultural origins and intensification in China and Mesoamerican archaeology. Zhong has conducted fieldwork in various regions around China, such as the central plain area, Xinjiang Province, and Tibet, and most recently took part in an excavation at the Copan site in Honduras from February to May, 2016.
