Hong Huang is an Associate Professor in the School of Fine Arts and Design at Guangzhou University. Her research focuses on postcolonial perspectives on modern visual art and transnational artistic exchanges between India, China, and the West. She received her Ph.D. from Nanjing Normal University, where she completed her dissertation The Home and the World: Rabindranath Tagore’s Artistic Utopia. Her publications examine Rabindranath Tagore, Santiniketan, and cross-cultural exchanges in modern art, and she was a Visiting Research Fellow at Visva-Bharati University in 2013. At the Harvard-Yenching Institute, she is conducting research for her next project, Transnational Modernity in Bengal: Imagining China within the Discourse of Indian Modern Art, 1900s–1940s.
