Han Song (韩松) is a PhD student in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at UC Berkeley, specializing in modern Chinese film and media. His research investigates the tensions between formlessness and materiality, as well as formalism and historicism, through an expanded notion of “wireless” within transnational media circuits in twentieth-century China. He is currently writing a history of television in China. His work has appeared in Chinese Journal of Journalism and Communication. His broader interests include the history of science and technology, East Asian art history, literary theory, and the digital humanities.
