Ma Nan is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Assistant Research Fellow at the School of Liberal Arts, Jinan University. She received her Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Shandong University, with a focus on Jewish-Christian relations and papal policies toward Jews in the medieval period. She also studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome for two years, earning a Licentiate in Judaic Studies and Jewish-Christian Relations, summa cum laude.
She has published several academic papers, including “Jewish-Christian Dialogue under Soloveitchik’s Philosophy of ‘Confrontation’” (Logos & Pneuma: Chinese Journal of Theology, 2025). Her monograph, A Study of the Pope’s Jewish Protection Policies in the Middle Ages, was published by Shanghai Sanlian Bookstore in 2025.
Her research interests include medieval history, Jewish-Christian relations, and interreligious dialogue. Building on her training in Abrahamic interfaith studies, she has recently expanded her focus to the Asian context, particularly the historical and cultural interactions between Christianity and Buddhism.
