Prakirati Satasut is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Thammasat University. He received his B.A. in Economics from Bard College, M.A. in Political Economy from Chulalongkorn University, and Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019. His dissertation is on monastic activism and state-sangha relations in post-coup Thailand, and his current research focuses on the intersection between law, politics and Buddhism. During his time at the Harvard-Yenching Institute, he will conduct research on Buddhist protectionism in Thailand, particularly its historical development and contemporary expressions.
