Wang Junqi is currently a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Buddhism and Religious Theory and an Associate Professor at the School of Philosophy, Renmin University of China. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Humanities and Sociology at the University of Tokyo, and his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Fudan University. Wang’s academic research primarily focuses on Indian Buddhist philosophy and Sanskrit manuscripts. In 2021, he published his monograph, An Annotated Translation and Research of Dharmakīrti’s Nyāyabindu and Dharmottara’s Commentary, in which he delved into Dharmakīrti’s epistemology and logic, as well as Dharmottara’s development of Dharmakīrti’s philosophy. Currently, Wang continues to dedicate himself to the identification and study of Sanskrit manuscripts, having discovered and embarked on research into a collection of valuable Sanskrit manuscripts, including Sūtrasamuccaya, Mahāvairocanābhisaṃbodhisūtra, Bodhicaryāvatārapañjikā, and Candrakīrti’s Pradīpoddyatanaṭīkā, in the international academic community.
