Ge Rongling is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Xiamen University. She obtained her B.A. in Chinese Linguistics and Literature and M.A. in Comparative Literature from Shandong Normal University, and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Xiamen University, with a two-year joint-Ph.D. training program at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research interests include ethnic tourism, place identity, landscape imaginaries, eco-museums and integrated heritage preservation. She is now focusing on field research of a Sani Yi tourism village near the UNESCO heritage site of Stone Forest, Yunnan Province, China.
