Huijun Mai’s research interests include poetry and poetics, literati paintings and cultures of the Chinese middle periods, focusing on the Tang and the Song dynasties. Currently she has finished her MA thesis for Regional Studies – East Asia at Harvard University, entitled “Censored Writing: Negotiation, Self-surveillance, and Consolation in Su Shi’s Poetic Sequence from 1080 to 1084.” She is also interested in medieval studies in the English and European traditions.
