Qu Tongli is an Associate Professor in Archaeology in Peking University. She received her Ph.D. from the School of Archaeology and Museology, Peking University. She studied in the Anthropology Department at Harvard from September 2007 to February 2009 as a visiting student. She was a Humboldt post-doc researcher in Tuebingen University, Germany. Her research focuses on the cultural evolution in the Paleolithic of China, the comparative study of animal exploitation and human behavior between the West and the East in early Prehistory, and modern human emergence in East Asia. She has been conducting archaeological programs in Henan province, the central plain area of China. Her main publications include The Chinese Upper Paleolithic and Late Middle Palaeolithic Subsistence in the Central Plain of China.
