Talk synopsis: 本演講將根據藍佩嘉在史丹佛的大學出版的Raising Global Families一書內容,經由在台灣與美國的多地點比較研究,解構對華人文化「虎媽」式教養的本質性看法,深入剖析不同地理位置與階級地位的家庭如何因應全球化與移民生活的不安全感與不確定性,連結在地制度與跨國資源來進行文化協商,這些保安策略卻反而更加強化了父母的焦慮與不安全感

About the speaker: Pei-Chia Lan is Distinguished Professor, Department of Sociology, National Taiwan University, and Director of the Global Asia Research Center at National Taiwan University.

藍佩嘉為國立臺灣大學社會系特聘教授、亞洲社會比較研究中心主任、美國西北大學社會學博士,曾任哈佛大學、紐約大學、加州柏克萊大學訪問學者。著有兩本英文專書Global Cinderellas: Migrant Domestics and Newly Rich Employers in Taiwan(Duke 2006)、Raising Global Families: Parenting, Immigration, and Class in Taiwan and the US (Stanford 2018)及兩本中文專書《跨國灰姑娘:當東南亞幫傭遇上台灣新富雇主》(行人2008)、《拼教養:全球化、親職焦慮與不平等童年》(春山2019),獲得美國社會學會、中研院人文社科專書獎、科技部最具影響力專書獎、台北國際書展、開卷好書、金鼎獎等諸多獎項。
