Chen Yushu

Chen Yushu is an Associate Professor at East China Normal University’s College of Fine Arts and holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include cross-cultural communication between China and the West, representations of Chinese figures in sixteenth- to eighteenth-century Europe, and colonial visual art during the early stages of globalization. In recent years, she has expanded her academic pursuits to include the visual representation of historically marginalized and underrepresented groups, specifically animals and women.
