She furthers this previous study by exploring how Buddhist narrative art varies from ancient India through Central Asia to East Asia and how visual narration develops in the Ramayana miniature paintings created later during the Mughal period. She pays much attention to archaeology, history, philology and cultural exchanges along the Silk Road as her background knowledge. Her Ph.D. dissertation will concentrate on  an analytic and comparative study on the narration in Ramayana miniature paintings of Mewar manuscripts.
