Dr. Gao is a Lecturer of Sanskrit and Indian Philosophy at Peking University. He received both his M.A. and Ph.D. from Peking University. The former degree was in Indian Languages and Literatures, while the latter was in Indology and Buddhism. He has been heavily involved in translations from Sanskrit to Chinese.
