Rong received her B.A. in Philosophy from Tsinghua University. Her research fields include early Christianity in Tang China (Jingjiao), and the interaction between Chinese religions (mainly Buddhism and Daoism) and Christianity during the Tang Dynasty. She is also interested in the Dun Huang manuscripts.
