Bo-mi Kim is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at Seoul National University. She completed her B.A. in International Relations and M.A. in Sociology at Seoul National University and spent a year as a research associate working on Korea and East Asia in Global History at the Free University of Berlin. Her research interests include nation-state building and state-society relations during the Cold War, the history of ideas and knowledge held by both intellectuals and non-intellectuals, and the making of the social/fact among epistemic communities. She is currently working on her dissertation project which tackles these issues by shedding new light on the field of social surveys.
