Lan Linyou is currently Professor of Anthropology in the School of Ethnology and Sociology, Minzu University of China. His research focuses on social anthropology, medical anthropology, and anthropology of tourism, with an emphasis on Chinese culture and society. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard-Yenching Institute from 2005-06, and will be an Associate at the Institute from 2014-15. His current project is a cross-cultural comparative study of Sino-US medical ethics, which he hopes will lead to a mutual understanding between China and the United States. In his spare time, he enjoys exercise and travel, especially physical fitness, jogging, and hiking.
