LEE Kyung Ah received her Ph.D. from Seoul National University with a dissertation titled The Adoption and Evolution of the Concept of Culture Houses in Korea during the Japanese Colonial Period, and continues her research on modern architecture and urban changes in East Asian countries, including Korea. Her representative work is Residential Areas of Gyeongseong (Seoul): The Development of Residential Areas in Gyeongseong During the Era of Population Explosion.
