Mika Marumoto, a development consultant and former visiting fellow at the Harvard-Yenching Institute, completed her dissertation The Road Not Yet Taken: North Korea’s Economic Transformation and the Role of China (Yonsei University 2007) based on research conducted at Harvard.  Related publications include “North Korea and the China Model” (Korea Economic Institute 2008).  Mika is currently managing a project evaluating statistical databases on North Korea, drawing on the expertise of a range of practitioners in the United States, South Korea and China.  She has also been engaged in translation projects, covering topics including individual accounts of World War II experiences and post-war reconciliation.
