Saloni Sharma (蕭蘭妮) is a PhD candidate researching China’s environmental communication and propaganda. Her doctoral dissertation is an empirical study of China’s ‘Ecological Civilisation‘ movement. Her academic interests lie in studying ecological and cultural intersections. She has a Master’s degree in Chinese Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She also has a postgraduate diploma in Liberal Studies from Ashoka University. She was awarded the ICS-HYI Multi-Year Doctoral Fellowship in 2019. As part of the fellowship, she spent a year learning Mandarin at National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei. Subsequently, she undertook fieldwork as a Senior Visiting Scholar at Tsinghua University, Beijing.
