Seonhee KIM

Seonhee Kim is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Ewha Womans University. Her research interests focus on East-West Comparative Philosophy, Philosophy in East Asia, Korean Philosophy, and Western Learning (西學) in pre-modern Asia. Her current research examines how philosophical differences in early modern Europe were reflected in the East Asian intellectual sphere through the translation work of the Jesuits in China, and how East Asian Confucian scholars integrated these ideas into traditional Confucian and Neo-Confucian philosophies. With the aim of expanding the possibilities for dialogue between Eastern and Western philosophy, she works to bring Korean philosophy into the international scholarly arena through various academic initiatives.
