Song Gang is an Associate Professor in Chinese History at the University of Hong Kong. He received his BA and MA degrees at the Peking University, and his PhD degree at the University of Southern California. He has broad interests in Chinese-Western cultural encounters in history, while his research focuses on Catholic Christianity in late imperial China. He is the author of Giulio Aleni, Kouduo richao, and Christian-Confucian Dialogism in Late Ming Fujian (Routledge, 2018). The projects that he is working on include early Chinese Marian culture, Catholic Bible translations in Ming-Qing China, and Sino-Western cartographic exchanges through the 17th and 18th centuries.
