Vysakh R is a PhD student in the department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar. Prior to that, he worked in a language documentation project funded by the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore. He received his MA in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and his BA (hons) in English from the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad. His PhD research focuses on the discourse of language endangerment in Teressa, an island situated in the Bay of Bengal, India. His research interests include multilingualism, semiotics, language ideologies, language documentation, language endangerment and language revitalization.
