XU Pei

Xu Pei is currently a lecturer at the School of Literature and Journalism at Sichuan University, specializing in visual cultural studies. The title of his doctoral dissertation is Image and Modernity—A Study of the Visual Culture in Chinese Modern Pictorials, 1884-1937.  He is currently working on a research project for the Ministry of Education in China which concerns visual representation in the mass media of modern China.  Dr. Xu has published three papers during the last two years, including “Landscape and its Representation in Early Modern Chinese Pictorials”.
