Wenjiang Yang is an Associate Professor of Japanese linguistics at Nankai University, China. He obtained his B.A. in English language from Tianjin University, M.A. in Japanese linguistics from Nankai University, and Ph.D. in Japanese linguistics from Peking University. His current research interests include grammatical marking of tense, aspect, and modality and evidentiality in Japanese and other languages. He is focusing on the descriptive work of the Japanese evidential system from typological and historical perspectives.
