Yi-Chieh Lin

Yi-Chieh (Jessica) Lin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism at National Chengchi University in Taipei. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from Harvard University. Her research focuses on the dynamics between media, technology, society, and culture, with a particular interest in the politics of lifestyle, sustainability, and consumption. Lin has published a book, Fake Stuff: China and the Rise of Counterfeit Goods, and numerous articles and book chapters exploring themes of creativity and fakery, the identity of Instagram influencers, digital labor and social livestreaming, combating COVID-19 misinformation, sustainable food consumption, festival marketing, and news framing of older adults.
