Zheng Guomin is a Professor at College of Chinese Language and Literature, Beijing Normal University.  He got his Ph.D. in Chinese educational history from Department of Education, Beijing Normal University. His research interests focus on Chinese educational history, Chinese teaching policies and curriculum in elementary and middle school. He carried out many research projects and drafted curriculum reform documents for Ministry of Education. He is the chief-editor of series of Chinese textbooks, which are currently used by more than 10 million elementary school students.  His main Publications include From Classical Chinese to Vernacular Chinese: the Revolution of Modern Chinese Education (1895-1935), Research into Curriculum, Reform of Chinese in the New Century.  He was Associate Dean of College of Chinese Language and Literature of Beijing Normal University.  While at the Institute, he worked on a project entitled “Foreign Culture in Chinese Textbooks in the Early 20th Century (1900-1935).”
