Regional Studies-East Asia Fellowship Program
This multi-year full fellowship covers the two-year master’s degree in Harvard’s Regional Studies – East Asia (RSEA) program. The full fellowship includes round-trip air fare from Asia, medical insurance, Harvard tuition and a stipend for living expenses.
About the RSEA A.M. Program at Harvard
RSEA is a vibrant interdisciplinary area studies program designed to accommodate a wide range of interests and needs for graduate training in the languages, societies and cultures of East Asia. The program offers additional course preparation and mentorship for promising students in order to make them more competitive for admission to leading Ph.D. programs. The world of academia in both humanities and social sciences is a key component that has traditionally defined RSEA’s identity and continues to be part of RSEA’s mission today.
This fellowship is for Asian nationals who are committed to pursuing a Ph.D. as preparation for an academic career and who plan to return to Asia to teach upon completion of their graduate studies. Applicants who hold degrees (or are currently enrolled in degree programs) from English-medium universities located outside of Asia are ineligible.
Eligible candidates admitted into the RSEA Program are automatically considered for the HYI RSEA Master’s Fellowship. There are a limited number of fellowships available and nominations for the fellowship are made solely by the RSEA Admissions Committee. No direct application or solicitation is permitted. Please note that this fellowship is only for Harvard RSEA admitted students and not transferable to other programs or universities. Please note this grant is awarded for consecutive years of study only. The program must be completed within two years.
