About the series: Responding to the urgent need for an interdisciplinary, high-quality, peer-reviewed and independent academic publication in Vietnam, the Harvard-Yenching Institute supported a scholarly series that concentrated on various disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. The first three-year plan of the series included volumes on anthropology, literature, sociology, history and archaeology, philosophy and religion, and cultural studies. The first book, in anthropology, came out in November 2008.
