Dr. Hoang Cam Giang received her Ph.D. (2013) majoring in theory of literature from Vietnam National University and received a certificate of film writing course (2010) from Film Studies Program sponsored by the Ford Foundation (USA). She currently is a researcher and a lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University (USSH VNU), Ha Noi. Her research focuses on Art History, Vietnamese Cinema, Film Study; World Cinema History. Currently, she is working for the Department of Art Studies which is a part of the Faculty of Literature in VNU. In recent years, she is interested in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches in cinema and literature, such as adaptation and translation studies, and ecocriticism. Her research now centers on cinematic criticism. Starting with the contemporary setting of the East Asian countries as they have experienced environmental crises from 2000s-2010s, her research explores their natural features and the interpretation and understanding of the nature-human relationship by East Asian films.
