NGUYEN Thi Phuong Cham

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Phương Châm is the  Director of the Institute of Cultural Studies, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and the current head of Faculty of Cultural Studies, Graduate School of Social Sciences. She holds both MA. and PhD in Cultural Studies, Institute of Cultural Studies. Her research and teaching interests include traditional village festivals, changes of village culture and reconstruction of traditional cultural practices and rising issues of inscribed cultural heritage in Vietnam. She is active in policy advice at both provincial and national levels in the field of culture and sustainable development. She has authored over 10 monographs and over 60 journal articles about Vietnam cultures, village culture and culture of the overseas Vietnamese communities.
