P.K. Anand has submitted his doctoral thesis titled “Market Dynamics and State Responses in China: Social Welfare and Industrial Workers, 1987-2008,” for evaluation at the Centre for East Asian Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, in July 2016. He also submitted his M. Phil in the same centre in 2008 titled “The Concept of Socialist Market Economy: A Study of the Chinese Discourse during the Deng Period.” He completed his Master’s in Politics with Specialization in International Relations in 2006 from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He qualified for the University Grants Commission of India’s National Eligibility Test, with a Junior Research Fellowship in 2006. Prior to his fellowship at HYI, Anand was a Research Associate at the Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS), Delhi. Having joined ICS as a Research Intern in 2012, he also handled administrative responsibilities as a Programme Officer for two years. In August 2016, he completed a comparative research project awarded by the Indian Council for Social Science Research on Labour and Social Security in Small and Medium Enterprises in Mumbai and Wenzhou.
