This talk will be presented in Korean.
This lecture examines ten Lotus Sutra-related texts from Korean Buddhist literature housed in the Harvard-Yenching Library. The study traces their routes of transmission, textual forms, printing methods, and distribution processes. These materials include a variety of sources such as a gilt-lettered manuscript from the late Goryeo period, a hand-copied scroll by Prince Anpyeong of early Joseon, donated editions by Min Younggyu, and a collection owned by the German Cheontae Order monk Bruno Petzold. Particularly noteworthy are the woodblock-printed texts that feature mixed scripts (Classical Chinese and Korean Hangul), donor registries, and records of monastic networks, all of which offer valuable insight into the publication culture and social foundations of Buddhism in the Joseon dynasty. The lecture also explores the broader patterns of textual exchange among Korean, Chinese, and Japanese Buddhist traditions.
