Announcing Spring 2022 Associates


HYI is pleased to welcome several Associates for the spring 2022 semester (travel permitting). 

The Associates are former Harvard-Yenching Visiting Scholars or Visiting Fellows who will return to Harvard to conduct new or additional research in their respective fields:

  • Chen Hongmin, History, Zhejiang University, “Papers of Anna Chennault”
  • Fujiki Hideaki, Film and Media Studies, Nagoya University, “The Radioactive Screen: Ecology from Fukushima to the Globe”
  • Kim Hyon-sob, Architectural History, Korea University, “Korean Architecture Described in Western Publications, 1876-1910”
  • Lee Ha-kyoung, Political Science, Academy of Korean Studies, “Public vs. Private: Crime and the State in Chosŏn Korea”
  • Yang Bin, History, University of Macau, “Discovered but Forgotten: The Maldives in Chinese History”

The associates will be in residence at HYI, if travel conditions permit. Additional associates may be announced at a later date.
