This summer, HYI co-sponsored two training programs: “Science, Technology, and Society (STS) in Asia: Tackling Socio-Technical Challenges from An Interdisciplinary Perspective,” which was held at Tsinghua University in Beijing, and “New Materials and New Approaches to the Study of Chinese Rural Society,” which was held in Fujian, China.
The Institute also co-organized a conference on “International Conference on the Political Economy of China: History, Institutions and Policies” held at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou.
Institute staff visited several partner universities – in Guangzhou, Beijing, Jinan, and Chengdu – and held alumni gatherings in multiple cities.
HYI Director James Robson paid a visit to the Toyo Bunko in Tokyo, including visits to their library and museum.
