Bhim Subba is a research scholar in Chinese studies at the Department of East Asian Studies, Delhi University. He is a political science major from the Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. He was a India China Institute Ford Student Fellow of India China Knowledge and Capacity Building Initiative in 2013, and a recipient of a Confucius Institute Scholarship from 2013-14, where he spent one year undergoing Mandarin language training in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, PRC. In 2015, he became affiliated with the Mandarin Training Center, National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, ROC where he pursued language study and independent research. His research interests include Chinese politics, party leadership, development, and India-China comparatives. He has done extensive fieldwork in China for his research, and participated in numerous conferences and seminars. He has worked on various projects as a research consultant on China’s development, rural issues, and the compilation of a database on contemporary China.
