Nirmola Sharma is the recipient of ICS-HYI Doctoral fellowship.  As part of the fellowship, she spent the past year in Fudan University, as a Visiting Scholar at the International Center for Studies of Chinese Civilization (ICSCC). She has done her Masters in History from the Department of History, Delhi University (DU) and has an M.Phil from the Department of East Asian Studies, DU. For her PhD, she is working on the Indian National Army (INA) in China. She was earlier awarded a Government of India, Ministry of Human Resources (MHRD) scholarship to undergo language training in China. She has co-edited with Dr. Madhavi Thampi, Occasional Paper No. 3 titled, ‘Catalogue of Materials Related to Modern China in the National Archives of India Part I (Special Collections)’ and an ICS Monograph No. 2 titled ‘Catalogue of Materials Related to Modern China in the National Archives of India: 1939-45.’ She has presented papers at many national and international seminars. Her area of interest is Chinese history and she is particularly interested in studying Sino-Indian interactions in the modern period.  In her free time, she is fond of reading, gardening, travelling and cooking.
