Prabhat Katyayan Mishra

Prabhat Katyayan Mishra (孟熹明) is researching the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in China as a PhD candidate at the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His current research provides a rigorous interdisciplinary analysis of the governance dynamics surrounding AI in China, integrating insights from economics, geopolitics, political science, and technology studies. Previously, he earned an MPhil in Law and Governance, preceded by master’s and undergraduate degrees in Media and Communication Studies and Chinese Studies, respectively. As a Harvard-Yenching Institute doctoral fellow, he was affiliated with the National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei in 2022-23 for Chinese language studies. In 2023-24, he was a Senior Visiting Scholar at Tsinghua University, Beijing where he conducted fieldwork and interviews.
