Andrew Gordon awarded NIHU International Prize in Japanese Studies

Congratulations to Professor Andrew Gordon, Lee and Juliet Folger Fund Professor of History at Harvard University and former HYI Acting Director (2018-19), who was recently awarded the NIHU International Prize in Japanese Studies from the National Institutes for the Humanities. NIHU notes: “The Prize salutes Dr. Gordon’s outstanding achievements in the study of the history of labor in modern Japan…his wide-ranging endeavors in the study of Japanese modern history…[his] wide-ranging activities in education…and Dr. Gordon’s contributions to bridging society and academia.”
