This new HYI grant was offered for two or more Asia-based HYI alumni to collaborate on a cross-national, cross-disciplinary research project, likely to result in a publication. This new initiative is intended to help compensate for pandemic isolation by encouraging more communication across countries, disciplines, and generations.
We are pleased to announce that three projects will receive the HYI grant for the 2021-22 year:
- The Prehistory of Music in China (Fong Sing Ha, Chinese University of Hong Kong; Miyamoto Kazuo, Kyushu University; Yang Yuanzheng, University of Hong Kong; Zhang Wenjie, Xiamen University)
- Wars and Revolution in (E)motion: Inter-regional Cultural Exchanges in Cold War Asia (Do Dieu Khue, USSH-Ho Chi Minh City; Kim Su Yun, University of Hong Kong; Ko Young-ran, Nihon University; Lin Pei-yin, University of Hong Kong)
